The objectives of the African Journal of Economic Transformation and Development (AJETD) are to:

• Promote high-quality scholarship in economics, development studies and related interdisciplinary fields.
• Advance knowledge on African economic transformation and development through rigorous theoretical and empirical research.
• Provide a platform for researchers, academics, policymakers and development practitioners to disseminate innovative research findings and policy-relevant ideas.
• Encourage evidence-based policy research that contributes to effective economic and development policymaking in Africa.
• Promote interdisciplinary and comparative research on emerging economic and development issues affecting African countries and other developing economies.
• Support research on inclusive and sustainable development, with attention to poverty reduction, employment generation, inequality, gender, human capital and improved livelihoods.
• Encourage methodological innovation and rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis in economic and development research.
• Facilitate the exchange of scholarly knowledge and ideas among researchers and institutions within Africa and internationally.
• Promote research that addresses contemporary development challenges, including technological change, digitalization, climate change, financial inclusion, globalization and regional economic integration.
• Contribute to the visibility and dissemination of African scholarship by providing an accessible platform for high-quality research relevant to both academic and policy communities.
