The African Journal of Economic Transformation and Development (AJETD) considers plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct unacceptable.
Plagiarism includes presenting another person’s words, ideas, data, findings, tables, figures or other intellectual contributions as one’s own without appropriate acknowledgement.
Authors must properly cite and reference all sources used in their manuscripts.
The journal may use appropriate plagiarism-detection and similarity-checking procedures during manuscript assessment. A similarity report may be used as an editorial screening tool; however, similarity percentage alone does not determine whether plagiarism has occurred. The editorial team considers the nature, source and context of the similarities identified.
Manuscripts containing substantial unattributed material may be rejected.
Where plagiarism is identified after publication, AJETD may take appropriate corrective action, including publication of a correction, expression of concern or retraction, depending on the seriousness of the case.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts comply with the journal’s originality and citation requirements.
